MERCURY ALPHA VERSION RELEASED
Saturday, January 5th, 2002Liquid Communication Systems, LLC released an alpha version for testing of their Mercury Instant Messaging System today in Raleigh. Mercury is an instant messaging client intended for internal business use, and will soon be distributed to local organizations for beta testing. Version 1.0 is slated to be released for sale in second quarter 2002.
The alpha release, version 0.3.0a, has been distributed to more than 40 testers of various skill and experience levels. This release is not intended to be used in a business setting; it is primarily to detect defects and test features. Future releases will be used in business and organizational settings. The final release, due out this spring, will be a small business edition able to accommodate up to 100 concurrent users. It will include features such as MemoMessages, Meetings and a Single Conversation Window option. Mercury is a centrally administered messaging system.
