Friday, March 29th, 2002

Liquid Communication Systems released the Beta 2 version of its flagship product Mercury Instant Messaging System (MIMS) on March 18, 2002. Several local businesses are now using this beta version of MIMS on a testing basis.

MIMS, due for full release in early June, is a centrally administered business instant messaging system that includes features such as conversations, meetings, file transfer and MemoMessages. Currently, MIMS is intended for small businesses with up to 100 concurrent users. Some of the features new to the Beta 2 version include offline messaging, new settings functionality, simple group messaging and an easier server installation as well as the ability to run the server as an NT service.

?This is a big step for us at Liquid,? said President and CEO Hayes Davis. ?The newest beta version is faster and cleaner than previous versions. We?re getting great feedback from our testing partners and using it to make every new version better.?

Liquid, a software company specializing in business communications and headquartered in Raleigh, is currently looking for North Carolina area businesses to beta test MIMS. For more information about testing, please contact Liquid at beta@liquidcs.com.
