EFFUSIA V1.0 RELEASED
Monday, June 10th, 2002Five North Carolina State University students released their company’s first product, Effusia Business Messenger, on Monday, June 10. Chief Executive Officer Hayes Davis and Chief Financial Officer Forrest Samuels, along with Jared Hodak, George Peterson and Jenn Deering started Liquid Communication Systems, LLC in April of last year. Effusia, the company’s first product, is a centrally managed instant messaging and presence communication tool for small to medium enterprises.
Davis, Samuels, Hodak and Peterson will enter their senior years at NCSU in August. The four 21-year-olds are majoring in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Deering, a 2001 NCSU graduate, will return to NCSU in August to begin work on her masters degree. The five students are accompanied by a sixth founding member, Julie Davis, a Wake Forest University graduate.
Effusia Business Messenger provides managed presence-enhanced communication for small to medium enterprises. It is a centrally administered internal communication system designed for deployment on company LANs. Effusia features communication tools including instant messaging conversations, meetings, file transfers, broadcast MemoMessages, and offline messaging.
