LIQUID, GLOBALCHAT ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIP
Liquid Communication Systems, LLC, and GlobalChat, Inc, two online collaboration companies based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle area, announced today that they have reached a sales and services agreement covering Liquid’s Effusia Business Messenger product.
GlobalChat, an addition to Liquid?s Certified Partnership Program, will begin offering Effusia 1.2 as part of its suite of collaboration solutions to small and mid-sized businesses.
Effusia is an internal messaging system enabling small to medium enterprises to manage presence-enhanced communication. Public IM systems (AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and others) are not designed to be secure, provide no centralized control, and are not business oriented. Public IM systems are also not designed for easy deployment and support within an organization. Effusia has been designed with the business user in mind and has a streamlined interface designed to help users communicate quickly and efficiently.
“With its rapid and flawless setup and the ability to run on existing Internet servers, Effusia was an ideal product to add to GlobalChat’s online collaboration suite,” said Michael Moran, president of GlobalChat. “Even small companies have the same need for secure, online internal communication as the bigger corporations, but often cannot afford to build, license, or even administer a customized IM solution. Effusia is secure, auditable, easy to install, and intuitive to use. In short, it’s the perfect solution for internal instant messaging at a reasonable cost.”
GlobalChat is the premier licensee of the former ichat Product Suite, which was sold in 2001 to NetPCS of Canada. Local entrepreneur Michael Moran acquired the rights to sell and service the GlobalChat products when he formed GlobalChat, Inc., in June 2002.
“In today’s security conscious, competitive world, business executives and network administrators are right to prohibit their employees from discussing business on unsecured, public IM systems. But instant messaging increasingly serves a critical role for internal communication,” said Hayes Davis, president and CEO of Liquid. “We are excited to have the GlobalChat team representing our Effusia product, since they have focused exclusively on selling and implementing community and collaboration solutions for more than 4 years.”
