3. Does Effusia connect to consumer IM services like AIM, Yahoo! and MSN?

No, Effusia does not connect to external consumer instant messaging networks. All messages on these system go out over the public internet completely unencrypted to mostly anonymous users. These unmanaged, public networks pose too great a risk to company information for business-oriented instant messaging. Effusia provides a complete internal solution for small to medium enterprises that want to manage and secure their IM communication.

Effusia is brandable with your corporate logo for a reasonable fee. Please contact our sales staff for a price quote on a branded version of Effusia.

5. How does the Windows trial software work?

After you request your free trial you will immediately have the opportunity to download the software. The Windows trial download comes packaged as a compressed zip file for faster downloads. In order to install Effusia, you must first "unzip" this file using Winzip, WinRAR, or similar software (Windows XP users can unzip this file automatically without any 3rd party software). This zip file contains the following directory structure:

      Executable which installs the Effusia Server and/or the Effusia Console

      Quick Start guide to getting Effusia up and running
    • EffusiaServerUserGuide.pdf
      In-depth Effusia server configuration, use and maintenance documentation.

Once the file is unzipped install the server and admin software onto your server computer and the console onto the end user computers.

During the server installation process you will be asked for a license key. This license key comes in the form of a small text file called license.lic which was sent as an email attachment to email address you provided during the registration process. If you did not receive a license.lic file, contact sales@liquidcs.com and we will resend you your trial license. After installation of the server, admin, and console, refer to the Quick Start guide included in the zip file for details on how to connect your consoles to the server.

6. How is Effusia priced?

Effusia Business Messenger is priced by concurrent user rather than by monthly cost or seat license fee. There is an upfront license investment for the number of concurrent users and then a small annual maintenance fee based on the size of your license. 7. Why won't my free trial work?

There are two reasons that you may be experiencing difficulties with your Effusia trial:
  1. During installation of the Effusia Server, you will be asked for a trial license. You should have received this license file via email from Liquid Communication Systems after requesting your trial. In some instances the license key is erroneously quarantined by business spam and antivirus software because the license.lic file is sent as an attachment. (This attachment is a small, pure text file and is not executable in any way.) If you did not receive this license key, please contact sales@liquidcs.com and we will send you another trial license.
  2. If your Effusia Consoles suddenly stop connecting to your Effusia Server, you have reached your trial expiration date. Please contact sales@liquidcs.com or visit our online store to buy your full version and receive a permanent license.

9. Can I use Effusia to connect multiple locations or individual users?

Yes. Effusia Business Messenger supports essentially all standard network types, topologies, and hardware. Our secure im server can connect on any port or network address on a given server computer giving you complete freedom in how you wish to configure your network. Effusia provides 128 bit SSL encryption which keeps your data secure. Effusia also makes use of standard internet protocols such as TCP/IP and does not rely on Windows networking or other proprietary schemes for communication. So whether you need to connect multiple offices or remote personnel; Effusia lets you do it over any connection that supports standard protocols including directly over the internet or through a VPN.
